Sustainability
At DMY Studios, responsibility lies at the heart of every collection, across both eyewear and jewellery. The brand is built on a considered approach to design — creating pieces that are made to last, while respecting both people and planet. This philosophy is guided by four founding principles: sustainable design, innovative materials, protecting the planet, and ethical practices.
I. Sustainable Design
Sustainability begins with design. Each collection is shaped by a commitment to quality, functionality, and longevity, with an emphasis on timeless silhouettes that transcend seasonal trends. Pieces are created to be worn daily and kept over time — encouraging a more considered approach to consumption.
II. Innovative Materials
All eyewear is produced in small batches from cellulose acetate — a plant-derived material formed from natural cotton fibres and wood pulp. Selected for its durability, flexibility, and refined finish, it offers a considered alternative to conventional plastics. Production is carried out in partnership with ISCC PLUS-certified manufacturers, supporting traceable supply chains and the integration of circular and bio-based inputs. Cases are crafted from REACH-certified vegan leather, ensuring compliance with strict European standards on chemical safety.
III. Protecting the Planet
DMY Studios operates with an awareness of its environmental impact, producing in limited quantities to reduce excess and overproduction. Packaging is FSC-certified, ensuring materials are sourced from responsibly managed forests, while a considered approach to materials supports longevity across every piece.
IV. Ethical Practices
Jewellery is manufactured exclusively by a partner registered with the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC), ensuring adherence to globally recognised standards across human rights, fair labour, and responsible sourcing. Across the wider supply chain, selected manufacturing partners are SEDEX-audited, supporting transparency and responsible working conditions.
